
LAHORE (Dunya News) — Punjab’s annual matriculation examinations are set to commence tomorrow, March 27, with education authorities placing heightened security measures at dozens of centers across the province.
Officials confirmed on Thursday that 14 exam centers in Lahore have been designated as sensitive, including Government N.D. Islamia High School Achhra, Government High School Barki, Government Science College Barki, Government High School Atoki Awan, Government High School Jalomor, and centers located in Chohung, Maraka Quarter, and Sher Shah Colony, among others. Beyond Lahore, authorities have flagged four centers in Kasur, seven in Sheikhupura, and one in Nankana Sahib under the same classification.

A total of approximately 250,000 candidates will sit for the exams across 880 centers throughout the province. The first papers on Thursday will cover Arabic, commercial geography, and history.
To maintain order and prevent any irregularities, authorities have deployed a comprehensive security framework. Twenty-six centers will be monitored through CCTV surveillance, Section 144 will be enforced in surrounding areas, and only registered candidates carrying valid identification will be permitted entry. Unauthorized individuals will be barred from exam premises.
The matriculation examination season will run through April 16, with the final papers covering Punjabi and Islamic history. Following a brief gap, 9th-grade examinations are scheduled to begin on April 17.
