Kabirwala’s Jinnah Library to Turn Into Cultural Tea House

Kabirwala, May 2025 – A big step is being taken to boost culture and literature in Kabirwala. The historic Jinnah Library will be upgraded and renamed as the “Kabirwala Tea House.” This new space will be open to writers, poets, artists, and students who want to share ideas and enjoy literature.

Assistant Commissioner Rana Aamir Liaqat shared this exciting news during the Golden Jubilee Mushaira, an event celebrating the third anniversary of Majlis-e-Farogh-e-Adab Kabirwala. He said that promoting literature is the key to a better and more educated society. He also announced plans to add more books, improve the library’s facilities, and increase membership.

To support local talent, a list is being made of all people in Kabirwala Tehsil who are involved in literature and the arts. This way, their hard work can be recognized and appreciated.

National poet Qamar Raza Shehzad, who led the event, praised Kabirwala as a center of poetry and creativity. He appreciated the Majlis-e-Farogh-e-Adab for organizing 50 literary gatherings in just three years. He said this effort has made a big difference in keeping the region’s literary traditions alive.

President Syed Farrukh Raza said that the Majlis is working hard to keep Kabirwala’s rich literary history alive and pass it on to the next generation. Other speakers, including General Secretary Mohsin Raza Shafi, Vice President Rana Naeem Tariq, and Information Secretary Imran Razmi, shared the group’s achievements and thanked those who supported their mission.

The event also featured a cake-cutting ceremony, awards for special guests, and a lively mushaira (poetry session). Famous poets like Tahir Naseem, Suhail Abidi, Rakib Mukhtar, and Taseer Jafri impressed the audience with their poems.

To end the evening on a musical note, renowned singer Manzar Abbas sang ghazals and songs that captured the hearts of the crowd.

Many people from the area—including students, teachers, writers, and journalists—attended the event and praised the Majlis for keeping Kabirwala’s literary spirit alive.
