Lahore Board Introduces E-Sheet System for Matric Examinations

The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Lahore has completed preparations to introduce an E-Sheet (electronic answer sheet) system for Class 9 and Class 10 matric examinations, starting with Computer Science papers.

Under the new system, students’ answer sheets will be scanned and checked online. Examiners will be able to evaluate papers digitally from their homes, a move aimed at saving time and improving transparency in the examination process.

One Examiner Per Question

According to officials, each examiner will be assigned only one question to mark. For instance, if a question paper contains five questions, five different examiners will assess them separately. Authorities believe this approach will help reduce marking mistakes and remove personal bias.

Structured Answer Writing

Students will be required to write their answers strictly according to the given question numbers on the E-Sheet. This structured format will ensure smooth scanning and accurate online checking.

Better Transparency and Record Management

The board secretary stated that the E-Sheet system will raise marking standards and ensure greater transparency in results. Since answer sheets and records will be stored digitally, the number of complaints related to rechecking is also expected to decline.

Education officials say the initiative marks an important step toward modernizing the examination system and improving fairness in matric assessments.
