ISLAMABAD – The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) has postponed matriculation (Class 10) examinations in Iran and three Gulf states — Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain — in response to escalating regional security concerns across the Middle East.
The board issued an official notification confirming that the exams, originally scheduled to commence on March 31, 2026, will not proceed as planned at international centers in the affected countries. The primary reason cited is the need to safeguard students’ wellbeing amid the prevailing security situation in the region.

Authorities have assured students and parents that a revised examination schedule will be announced in due course, with prior notice given to all those affected. The board emphasized that there is no reason for alarm, and that examinations will be held once regional conditions return to normalcy.
FBISE stated it is actively monitoring the situation at all overseas examination centers and will resume operations as soon as it is deemed safe to do so.
Meanwhile, the matriculation first annual examinations 2026 are set to begin as scheduled in Punjab from March 26, with students already well into their final preparations. Private candidates appearing in any board examination are advised to download their roll number slips through the official website of their respective board.
